up the dream of adding Gucci
2013年8月22日Fashion Fueled by Family: The Legend of Gucci
When you consider the magnitude of the esteemed Gucci brand today, it’s hard to believe it started out as a small leather-making shop in Florence, Italy. The shop was opened by Guccio Gucci, son of a leather craftsman, in 1906. Guccio exhibited the same talents his father possessed, making functional pieces that reflected his exposure to European designs.
Initially, Guccio crafted leather bags to be used by traveling horsemen. Later, after travelers began using horseless carriages, he transitioned to upscale leather luggage. The first Gucci retail shop was opened in 1938, located on the scenic Via Condotti in Rome. Guccio himself designed much of the inventory sold at the first shop.
Evolution of a Fashion Icon
In 1947, Gucci unveiled its leather handbag with bamboo handle, the internationally recognizable piece that enjoys continued popularity today. This was followed by the now famous red striped webbing that also signifies the brand. During the 1950s, Guccio went on to design several of the famous handbags and accessories that brought the fashion house to the heights of popularity and prestige. Fine Gucci purses, luggage pieces, ties, jewelry, scarves, and other accessories comprised the company’s offerings.
After the death of Guccio Gucci in 1953, his family opened stores in several key locations throughout the world, including Beverly Hills, Paris, Tokyo, London, and Palm Beach. During the 1960s, the brand enjoyed an increase in popularity and prestige when several notable celebrities and public figures -- Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, Peter Sellers, and Jackie Kennedy, to name a few -- lent their personas to promoting the Gucci brand. Grace Kelly even sported a custom "Flora" foulard designed especially for her by Rodolfo Gucci. It was during this time that the now universally recognizable "GG" logo was developed in honor of the late founder Guccio Gucci.
A Company in Crisis
While the Gucci brand may have been thriving, behind closed doors the company was suffering due to family infighting and poor management. Meetings often led to shouting matches and rash business decisions. Bankruptcy was a real concern by the late 1970s. In 1993, brother Mauricio Gucci sold the ailing business to a holding company.
A Fresh Start
With the designation of Tom Ford as chief designer in the 1990s, the Gucci brand was reinvented, enjoying a return to its initial lofty status and chic appeal. With the launch of Ford’s new line in 1995 and endorsements from several top celebrities, including Gwyneth Paltrow and Madonna, the fashion house again became one of the most exclusive in the world. A publicly traded company, modern-day Gucci offers a vast array of high-end Gucci purses, travel bags, wallets, sunglasses, colognes, accessories, and footwear.

2013年8月22日Cell Phone Wireless Technology Court Victory for Brain Tumor Patient
The truth of cell phones and wireless technology has been buried by the industry, the health officials and governments. Sharesa Price thought it was just another in a series of sinus infections. Her head and eyes hurt, and she was vomiting. But then Price had a seizure, and a brain scan found something far more troubling."When I got home, the phone was ringing. It was the doctor’s office, and they told me, `Brace yourself. Honey, you have a brain tumor.’ I was standing by the refrigerator, and I just collapsed, saying, `no, no, no, it can’t be a brain tumor,’" she recalled. After her diagnosis in 1999 and surgery to remove most of the tumor, Price started looking for answers. She became convinced that exposure to radio-frequency radiation on the job, where she programmed cell phones for new customers, had caused the tumor.
In May, an administrative law judge who handles worker’s compensation claims awarded her $30,000 to pay her medical bills and other expenses. Price may be the first person to convince a judge that her illness was caused by radio-frequency radiation. The decision is unlikely to have widespread repercussions for the cell phone industry, however, because the settlement was small.Price’s customers at Advanced Communications Systems in northern California were doctors, firefighters, police departments and security departments for casinos, and she loved her work. She used a cell phone several hours each day, and the room in which she worked contained transmitters that emitted radio-frequency radiation, she said.
Price said when she filed a workers comp claim, her boss fired her, eliminating her health insurance. Then she lost the case. The Native American single mother of two daughters was devastated. She turned to Tribal Health, a government health agency for Native Americans, to get anti-seizure medication."If I hadn’t been Indian, I would have died," she said.
Her former boss, Dave Bohlen, said that he did not fire Price, that she quit based on her doctor’s advice and not return to work there. Bohlen said he dropped the insurance because she was no longer an employee. He called her worker’s comp case "frivolous" and said there was no proof her brain tumor was caused by working in his small shop.
"There’s nothing harmful going on here," he said. After Price recovered from brain surgery, she went to the Internet and found researchers studying the biological effects of radio-frequency radiation, and got to know them.
"I would call them up and say, `You are absolutely dead on. If a rat could talk, this is what it would say. I’m the human rat"
Brautbar has been an expert witness in a number of high-profile cases, including the chromium poisonings from polluted drinking water portrayed in the movie Erin Brockovich.
Brautbar reviewed Price’s case and wrote a report supporting her claim that the tumor was caused by exposure to radio-frequency radiation.
"It’s not a money issue, suing the company, it’s a health and safety issue," said Price, who speaks to school assemblies and classes about the need to use a headset when talking on a cell phone. "We need to explain to people that just like putting on condoms, you have to take this precautionary measure to make the product be as safe as they can be. Minimize your EMR exposure – to decrease hazardous risks.
1. Minimize all exposure and usage of wireless communication: cell phones, cordless phones, and WiFi devices.
2. Turn cell phone off when not in use and sleeping. Never keep it near your head or use it to play games, movies, etc.
3. Keep cell phone at least 6-7 inches away from your body and others while on, talking, texting and downloading.
4. Use air tube headsets or speaker mode when talking. Wireless and wired headsets still conduct radiation! www.officialnikejetsjerseyshop.com/WOMENS-GENO-SMITH-JERSEY.html
5. Never keep cell phone in pocket or on hip all day. The hip produces 80% of the body’s red blood cells and is especially vulnerable to EMR damage. The close proximity may also affect fertility.
6. Do not talk on cell or cordless phone when pregnant, with a baby/small child in arms, under age 16, or while in a vehicle (car, train, plane, subway) – the radiation gets trapped and is higher in these closed metal zones!
7. Replace all cordless and WiFi items with wired, corded lines (phones, Internet, games, appliances, devices, etc.). The cordless phone base emits high levels of EMR – even when no one is making a call.
8. Minimize/space out computer use, sit back from the screen; flat screens are preferable. Use wired Internet connections, not WiFi – especially for laptops. Keep laptops off of the body and preferably on wooden surfaces.
9. Keep a low-EMR sleep, home, and personal zone. Move alarm clock radio at least 3 feet from head or use battery power; 6 feet is the recommended distance from all electronic devices during sleep. Avoid waterbeds, electric and metal frames. Futons/wood frames are better than metal-coiled mattresses and box-springs. When using electric stoves, cook on back burners instead of front, as much as possible. Metals attract EMR: keep them away from and off of the body.
10. Measure EMR from wireless and wired devices with appropriate meters (see www.safewireless.org). To decrease exposures, install EMR filters and preventive technologies to electrical circuits, devices, appliances, etc.

Know any health care providers who
2013年8月16日An Ode to Fall, Football and Brain Damage
You’re kind of numb after 50 shots to the head." (Jim Harbaugh, Chicago Bears)
in September 2009, a study commissioned by the N.F.L. reported that Alzheimer’s disease or similar memory-related diseases appear to have been diagnosed in the league’s former players vastly more often than in the national population - including a rate of 19 times the normal rate for men ages 30 through 49.
New York Times August 22, 2010
I interview applicants for my alma mater, Yale University. Parents frequently ask me what is the best way to get their sons accepted, and I answer unequivocally, "be a football star".
It is ironic that in promoting American football, these bastions of intellectual achievement are directly contributing to the largest organizationally supported legal cause of brain damage to the youth of America. Terry Bradshaw jokes aside, this is a real issue, and bears mentions at the start of the football season.
Today’s article in the NYT is about the problem of head trauma in the NFL, and the statistics are pretty grim. Former NFL players have a Alzheimer’s rate are increased 19 fold, as well as depression, cognitive loss and behavior changes. These statistics understate the problem dramatically.
Any head trauma, even if not enough to cause a concussion, can still result in irreversible damage to the brain. Minimal trauma is difficult to measure but accumulates over time. Occasionally actual lesions are seen in MRI’s of the brain, and I saw quite a few in my career as a Radiologist. The continued head blows, intrinsic to the game of football, can have a very negative long term cumulative impact.
More important than the several hundred NFL players are the 1.2 million high school players in America. There are an estimated 55,000 concussions yearly, but these represent only the tip of the iceberg. I played high school football, and had my "bell rung" many times(perhaps that explains things) There are millions of head blows every year, and every one causes some damage to cells of the brain. Developing brains of younger boys are more sensitive, and the damage may actually be more severe than that seen in the NFL. Rules designed to remove players with concussions may only make matters worse by discouraging motivated kids from reporting injuries. Better helmets may simply encourage more use of head blows, as hitting with the helmet hurts less.www.nflofficialtexans.com/Authentic-Jj-Watt-Jersey
This is not just an idle rant, the impact on America’s health care costs may be significant. Those head blows may result in thousands of more cases of Alzheimer’s every year, as well as increased rates of depression and other mental illness. Less evident brain damage could result in decreased intelligence, anti-social behavior and poor impulse control that only manifests on psychometric testing or crime statistics.
I enjoy watching football, and have no desire to see the game gone, but I wonder if a simple study doing MRI’s and psychometrics on one high school team before and after the year, would end the fall ritual of head blows delivered to the youth of America.
Maybe if we had saved those millions of IQ points lost playing football, we could have avoided zero-down mortgages, "Jersey Shore", and the passage of Obamacare.
Like Ancient Rome, we are still killing our gladiators, just a little bit more insidiously.

A career quarterback rating
2013年8月16日Warren Moon’s Stats
Warren Moon’s stats standout among other quarterbacks in National Football League (NFL). However, the achievements from his 17-year NFL career showcase a man’s determination and grit to achieve his goal. Moon became the first player inducted into both the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and the NFL Hall of Fame. He is the first undrafted player, and the first modern African American quarterback inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame. Though his path to achieving success was unconventional, Warren Moon’s stats speak for themselves.
As an undrafted quarterback from the University of Washington, Moon played five years in the Canadian Football League (CFL) for the Edmonton Eskimos before heading to the NFL. In the CFL Moon’s stats were impressive, leading him to the league’s Most Valuable Player award his final season with the Eskimos. He led his team to five consecutive Grey Cup victories. Moon was the Offensive Most Valuable Player in the 1980 and 1982 games. He’s listed as the #5 greatest player in CFL history.
Upon entering the NFL, Moon signed with the Houston Oilers in 1984. His first year in the league he threw for a team record 3,338 yards as the team began utilizing his strong arm, and Moon began to excel as an NFL quarterback. The Oilers instituted the run and shoot offense, which seemed to be a perfect fit for Moon. In 1989, Moon was named the NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year, and the following year he was named AP Offensive Player of the Year and the UPI AFL-AFC Offensive MVP.
Statistically, 1990 was Moon’s best year as a NFL quarterback. He owned a quarterback rating of 96.8% for the year and completed 62% of his passes. Moon threw for career high 33 touchdowns that season, while throwing only 13 interceptions. He led the Oilers to a wildcard playoff loss against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Moon played for the Oilers for 10 seasons before shuffling around with the Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks and Kansas City Chiefs. He retired from football in 2001 after a 17-year career. At the time of his retirement, Moon ranked third all-time in NFL passing yards and fourth in touchdown passes. During his NFL career, Moon made nine pro-bowl appearances, and was the Pro Bowl MVP in 1997. His familiar number 1 jersey was retired by the Tennessee Titans in 1996. Moon’s legacy as a quarterback both in the CFL and NFL is immortalized in the numbers he posted:
Warren Moon’s stats (CFL & NFL):
o 5,357 pass completions for 70,553 yards
o 9,205 pass attempts
o 435 touchdowns
Warren Moon’s NFL Stats: www.nflofficialtexans.com/Authentic-Jj-Watt-Jersey
o 3,988 pass completions for 49,325 yards
o 291 passing touchdowns
o 1,736 rushing yards and 22 rushing touchdowns
o A career quarterback rating of 80.9%
o 233 career interceptions

long time has passed since the New York Jets made history by becoming the first AFL team to defeat an NFL team at Super Bowl III when they branded the Baltimore Colts. (Not a typo, there) The year 2007 was one of the worst seasons for the Jets, as they ended the season with a win-loss record of 4-12. For 2008 the team will play their 39th NFL season (49th season in their history) and attempt to redeem their historical name.
There is not much to say in terms of coaching changes. The team is satisfied with Eric Mangini, who was for a time the youngest coach in the NFL at 35 and is still the youngest coach in the history of the New York Jets. (He was recently one-upped by Lane Kiffin, the guy you have jerseys older than) Eric Mangini started as an offensive assistant with the Baltimore Ravens and then worked his way up to Defensive Quality Control Coach with the Jets a year later. He worked on the New England Patriots’ defense for a few years before retuning to the New York Jets in triumph, as the new head coach in 2006.
There have been some news tidbits in recent months that could affect the Jets’ performance in 2008. The Jets used a great deal of salary cap room in order to host some high-profile acquisitions. The team signed former Pittsburgh Steelers left guard Alan Faneca to a five-year contract worth $40 million, which made Faneca the highest paid offensive lineman in the NFL. After this acquisition, the Jets signed former Cardinals linebacker Calvin Pace to a six-year, $42 million deal. The big money contracts followed with the team signing Damien Woody, the Detroit Lions right tackle, to a $25.5 million contract for five years. Other signings that could mean good news for the Jets include Tony Richardson, Andre Woolfolk, Bubba Franks and Jesse Chatman.
The team also lost some notable names such as S Erik Coleman, who went free as a bird to the Atlanta Falcons, tight end Sean Ryan, who went to the Miami Dolphins, wide receiver Justin McCareins who signed with the Tennessee Titans and two released players in offensive tackle Anthony Clement and cornerback Andre Dyson. As far as drafts go, the New York Jets were willing to give up their 3rd and 5th round draft picks in exchange for the Carolina Panthers’ Kris Jenkins. However, they were just as willing to let two of their players go for a 4th round draft pick and for a conditional draft pick next season. In doing so the team lost linebacker Jonathan Vilma to the New Orleans Saints and defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson to the Denver Broncos.
Will the team’s big money signings prove to be a wise move, carrying the Jets to newfound success? It’s certainly possible, as players like Faneca and Pace don’t merit multi-million dollar contracts for no good reason. However, expectations were high for the Jets in 2007, and the same year proved to be one of the team’s worst seasons. (Though it should be noted that this lousy score only resulted in the Jets becoming the 6th pick in the 2008 draft) This season shall prove interesting as young mastermind Eric Mangini continues to stand up to the pressure.

Gift Ideas For Dad
2013年8月14日it’s warm enough to enjoy the outdoors or we simply have more daylight to take on fun activities, summer is truly a season of fun and there’s no better way to kickoff the season than by celebrating Dads’.
Father’s Day isn’t just a holiday to get your Dad his favorite NFL jersey or heaven forbid another tie, it’s a time of thanks and spending quality time together. More than anything, Dad’s like to do things rather than receive things, but if you want to show your Dad just how much he’s loved and appreciated bundle a gift of love with an act of fun.
A good example would be to get your Dad a new pair of athletics shoes and then make arrangements to engage in that sport. If he’s a tennis fan, get him a couple tennis balls, a new pair of tennis shoes and reserve a court at your local park or fitness center.
If he’s into Golf, you could do the same thing. Get a few golf balls and some tees, and head out to the course or even just a few hours at the driving range. NFL football jerseys are another great way to say, "Hey Dad - let’s go toss the skin around the back yard." Whether its football, basketball, baseball, tennis, swimming, horseshoes or golf - there’s an activity for everyone that can incorporate a small token of appreciation for the dedication and unconditional love father’s have for their children.
If he’s not a sports fan, figure out what he does like. If he’s into gadgets like GPS, invest in a tank of gas and go for a drive together. Or if he’s the intellectual type, do something educational to pair with the book you give him.
The point is, a gift is a great idea, but the gift of time is even more important. It doesn’t matter if you like the sport, are any good at it or even if you hate driving, this is about your Dad. Spending time with him, thanking him for all the guidance, advice, jokes, and yes even discipline is an important part of sealing the father - child relationship.
By pairing a token gift with a thoughtful activity, your Dad will feel truly special and enjoy the time he gets to spend with his little ones. Regardless of age, Dad’s will always be the guys we look up to and admire. From words of wisdom to acts of affirmation and encouragement, Father’s Day is the day to let him know just how much he means to you. www.officialfootballseahawks.com/Authentic-Richard-Sherman-Jersey
From NFL football jerseys, books, shirts to golf shoes, the best gifts are those that can be enjoyed, especially if it means the enjoyment can be shared by father and child.

Well where to begin, in today’s age we have an awful lot of carp fishing tackle and equipment to assist us with our angling. Many of these items have been born by people who have got fed up of throwing together old washing up bottles or sticks and mud in a true Blue Peter "here’s one we made earlier" style . One of those companies that have really been at the forefront of taking Carp Fishing Tackle to the next level is Korda, knowing the guys at Korda I know they will only put the time and effort into designing and testing something that will aid their fishing.
Bite alarms are probably the biggest development over the last few years. Many years ago when I started fishing for anything bigger than a gudgeon, I remember being sat behind my rod rests with a fairy washing up bottle top as a bobbin, waiting for it to hit the rod. Shortly after that some clever so and so created an alarm with a wire stick that when pulled tight made the most horrific buzzing sound shattering the perfect silence. This at the time was a massive development in Carp Fishing tackle as it opened up night fishing to a slightly less hard core angler. It stopped the necessity of sitting awake all night watching your rods, or putting a stone on your spool with a tin can underneath to bring your attention to a bite, or even tying line to your toe and trying to sleep. This technology has now been taken and improved many many times since, The top of the range system now, without a doubt in my mind, is Delkim, these alarms using a patented technology that uses a vibration sensor. If you look at this technically it will literally assist you with picking up bites that magnetic roller alarms wouldn’t, for instance, where fish kite on a tight line.
One of the other biggest developments in carp fishing tackle and equipment is rods, again when I brought my first Carp Fishing rods I spent over £250 for 2 rods which were Daiwa Pro Carp-X rods, which although they were good rods it was a budget rod at the time. Now days £125 per rod can buy you a top quality rod, for instance a Greys Prodigy, Nash Pursuit or the Fox Horizon rods. For the money you used to spend on a budget you can now get for under £200, 2 shimano rods, 2 shimano baitrunner reels with line and carry cases, and still have enough change to splash out on a couple of leads and a packet of hooks. The quality of these rods are still good enough for the average angler to take to there local ponds and dangle in the same way they would have done with their pro carp rods 15 years ago.
Bivvy’s and Bedchair’s have also become more affordable in today’s economic climate, I remember as a young lad looking through the magazines and merely dreaming of having £500 to spend on a bivvy and £250 on a bedchair. With the move of manufacture to china these items have now come down in price quite considerably, you can now pick up a cheap overnight brolly for about £40 and bedchairs from about the same. With these developments of carp fishing tackle and the price decrease it makes the sport open to a lot more people of different ages on all different budgets.
Carp Fishing now is a sport in itself whereas 30 years ago it was still one of those fish that were left as being "too difficult to catch" for your average Joe. We have a lot to be grateful for when we look at today’s carp fishing market, people who have no real experience of fishing can gain access to all the information they need to start carp fishing from scratch, and in a market that is in essence a consumer market, for not a lot of money.

When you’re shopping for an engagement ring, choosing the right setting can be just as important as choosing the right diamond. The ring setting adds style, character, and design to the overall look of the ring. Whether or not you want the ring to be a surprise, it’s important to get an idea of your fiance’s personal taste. It’s also important to consider her daily activities. For a woman that is more active, you may want to choose a stronger, sturdier setting. Although there are a huge range of diamond engagement ring settings, the three most common diamond engagement ring settings are solitaire settings, side-stone settings, and three-stone settings.
Solitaire Settings
This is the most classic, most popular setting for a diamond engagement ring. In a solitaire diamond engagement ring, a single diamond is positioned in the center of the ring. Round brilliant diamonds are the most common; however any diamond shape or cut is an acceptable choice. Normally, the diamond is held in place on a solitaire engagement ring by a special prong-setting which looks like a small claw. Prong settings are by far the most traditional and classic of all settings. The most popular prong setting is the four-prong setting which allows for the highest percentage of the diamond to be visible. Six-prong settings and bezel settings, however, provide the wearer with a bit more security when it comes to the safety of the set diamond. A low setting is also less likely to incur damage than a high setting.
Side-Stone Settings
A side-stone setting is a general term for any diamond engagement ring that features a centrally showcased, usually larger diamond accented by smaller diamonds along the sides of the ring, on either side of the central diamond. Side-stone settings are a way to add extra sparkle or a dash of color to a white-diamond engagement ring. Be aware that this style can vary greatly depending on the side-stones used and the way the side-stones are set. Channel-set side-stones are set within the band and are the most securely-set side-stones available. Bar-channel-set side-stones are set a bit higher which increases the risk of damage. Prong-set side-stones are more delicate settings than both the channel-set and bar-channel-set, and typically feature larger side stones. Finally, pavé –set side-stones are the most delicate settings since they feature small diamonds inset directly into the metal band with only small beads holding the stones in place. However, the pavé setting has become quite popular recently with the growing interest in vintage and vintage-style jewelry.
Three-Stone Settings
Three-Stone diamond engagement rings are imbued with an additional layer of symbolic meaning. Three-stone rings have one diamond representing the past, one representing the present, and a third representing the future. They can be nostalgic, but are typically considered to be timeless. Almost all three-stone set diamond engagement rings showcase prong-set diamonds. Frequently consumers who are interested in buying three-stone diamond engagement rings chose to design their own ring and carefully pick out each diamond.
Remember, a diamond engagement ring is a very important purchase. Don’t feel like its taboo to involve her in some of the decision-making. Whether you choose to involve her or not, it’s important to get a good feel for her taste, ring size and lifestyle. Then you’ll be well prepared to choose the setting that will make her happy forever.

As the father of two young children and as a husband of a wife who loves to shop for childrens clothes, I often find myself comparing the clothes my kids where to the clothes I used to where when I was their age. Growing up in the late 70’s and early 80’s I often find it somewhat comical when I make these comparisons. Style not withstanding, cost and brand themselves are nothing like they once where. www.officialfootballseahawks.com/Authentic-Bobby-Wagner-Jersey
It really wasn’t until our youngest was born a couple of years ago that I began to find myself thinking of what I used to wear, especially since my wife starting digging up old baby pictures of the both of us. I generally find the comparisons humorous especially when dealing with baby clothes but even the normal everyday playwear of children in my day would be considered tacky by the standards of twenty years ago.
When my wife starting bringing home baby clothes for our youngest, I immediately thought of the horrible 70’s onsies my parents put me in. While looking at my own baby pictures I noticed that my parents put me in things that where bright and multi-colored. The onsies in particular where fashioned after the jersey’s that everyone seemed to be wearing in those days. The chest was one color, while the sleeves where another color. To be perfectly honest I didn’t find one picture of myself in anything fashionable even by 70’s standards which continue to reverberate in my mind whenever I look at the children’s clothes we bring home.
With our oldest who is a boy I find myself laughing when I think of how his jeans differ from mine. When I was six years old my jeans where bell bottoms, corduroy, and I wore Toughskins exclusively! In those days nothing beat a good pair of jeans with huge patches over the knees. Every cool kid had a few pairs of Toughskins to sport on the playground. These days my son only wears Levis and pitches quite the fit should we suggest he try and where something different.
I think perhaps the biggest difference in childrens clothes then and now is the shorts. Even adult shorts have changed so much that the shorts of yesteryear have gone far beyond the "tacky" barrier. My son and even my youngest enjoy wearing things like Dickies and what not however in the late 70’s I remember wearing disco shorts to school along with some variant of a multi-colored shirt. Why our shorts where so short I’ll never know but perhaps they where short so that us kids could pull up our stripped socks as high as we could!
I’ve always been a fairly fashion conscience person throughout my whole life and while I know that styles come and go with time it really blows my mind to see just how much things have changed when it comes to baby clothes and even childrens clothes. I once laughed at the clothes my father wore when I was as young as my kids and I’m sure they do the same now though I’m one of the jeans and t-shirt dads. I guess fashion is actually just a sense of age and time.

The NCAA today altered its rule regarding visiting teams, not wearing white jerseys. Now, USC will be penalized just one timeout on Saturday, at the start of the game, as opposed to the previous rule of one timeout per half. UCLA coach has agreed to burn one of his timeouts at the start of the game as well.
The NCAA espouses a collegiate model of athletics in which student-athletes participate in varsity sports as an avocation, balancing their academic, social and athletics experiences. The NCAA is made up of three membership classifications that are known as Divisions I, II and III. Each division creates its own rules governing personnel, amateurism, recruiting, eligibility, benefits, financial aid, and playing and practice seasons – consistent with the overall governing principles of the Association. The NCAA baseball championship has been held in Omaha, Nebraska for nearly 60 years. It will be held there until at least 2036 based on the current contract. They are currently building a new stadium that should be open in 2011.
The best style of jersey that is offered is the AUTHENTIC jersey. This jersey is as close as you can get to what the players wear on the field. It is a very heavy style jersey with spandex sides. All of the numbers are embroidered and it has authentic number sizes. 48-XL, 52-2X, 56-3X, 60-4X.
The next style of jersey that Nike offers is the TWILL jersey. This is a very nice jersey for the price. It will probably cost you 1/2 the price of the authentic jersey. It is a lighter jersey than the authentic jersey without any spandex.
The last style that Nike offers is the REPLICA jersey. This is still a very nice jersey for the money. It has the same "look" as what the players wear on the field with the official school logos and colors. This is a lighter style jersey and all of the numbers are printed instead of being embroidered like the other two versions.

Except for minor modifications, the Saints’ logo and uniforms have basically remained the same since the club debuted in 1967. The team’s logo is a fleur-de-lis (a symbol of the City of New Orleans and of France’s Bourbon monarchy), while its uniform design consists of gold helmets, gold pants, and either black or white jerseys. Minor changes to the uniform stripes and trim have been made throughout the years. The team wore black helmets during the 1969 preseason, but NFL commissioner Pete Rozelle barred the Saints from using the helmets during the regular season, since owner John Mecom, Jr. did not notify the league office of the change. The Saints predominantly wore white at home when the club played at Tulane Stadium from 1967 through 1974 (except in 1969 and 1970), forcing opponents to wear dark colors in the subtropical climate of New Orleans. When the surface at Tulane Stadium switched from natural grass to AstroTurf in 1971, field temperatures became hotter still. In Archie Manning’s first game, in the 1971 season opener against the Los Angeles Rams, temperatures on the field reached as high as 130 F (54 C). The heavily favored Rams wilted in the stifling heat, and the Saints claimed their first-ever victory over their NFC West rivals, 2420, on Manning’s 1-yard quarterback sneak on the last play of the game. The Saints switched to white pants in 1975, coinciding with the team’s move from Tulane Stadium to the Superdome. One year later, they started to wear black pants with their white jerseys, a move influenced by coach Hank Stram, who introduced red pants to the Kansas City Chiefs’ uniforms in 1968. In an October 3, 1976 home game against the Houston Oilers, Hank Stram used the Saints’ road uniforms, the white jerseys and black pants. The Saints lost that game 3126. During the 198182 seasons (Bum Phillips’ first two seasons as coach), the team wore white jerseys with black pants at home, but reverted back to the black jerseys and white pants for 1983. They reverted back to wearing gold pants with both their black and white jerseys in 1986 under new coach Jim E. Mora. From 1986 through 1995, the sleeves of the jerseys and sides of the pants featured a logo with a fleur-de-lis inside an outline of the state of Louisiana. The logo replaced the striping pattern that had been on the uniforms since the team’s inception; save for color variations, the striping pattern was similar to that used by the Washington Redskins (until 1979), Green Bay Packers (until 1997), and Cleveland Browns (still in use as of 2007[update]), which is likely why the change was made. That logo was removed in 1996 and replaced with a fleur-de-lis on both the sleeves and sides of the pants. From 1996 through 1998, the Saints returned to gold numbers on both the white and black jerseys, but complaints about the numbers on the white jerseys being too difficult to read forced the numbers on the white jerseys to be changed to black in 1999. The Saints wore black pants with a wide gold stripe with their white jerseys in 1999, but following a 313 season and the dismissal of coach Mike Ditka, the black pants were mothballed by new coach Jim Haslett. 2000s In 2000, the Saints won their first playoff game as they hosted the St. Louis Rams and after having a better road record than home record, they wore their white jerseys, helping them get a 3128 win over the defending champion Rams. The defining play of the game came with the Saints clinging to a three-point lead with minutes to play. The Saints punted to the Rams’ Az-Zahir Hakim (who would play one season for the Saints in 2005), who fumbled the punt deep in Rams’ territory. Brian Milne recovered for the Saints, who then ran out the clock to preserve the victory. In 2001, they wore their white jerseys in the first six home games. During that same year, they primarily wore black pants with both their white and black jerseys. They became the first NFL team to wear all-black uniforms in a week 5 road game against the Carolina Panthers, and again in weeks 16 and 17 in home games against the Washington Redskins and San Francisco 49ers. In 2002, the Saints wore black pants with their white jerseys (except for the final road game, a 2013 loss in Cincinnati when they went back to the gold pants), and gold pants with their black jerseys, a gold alternate jersey, and a 1967-style throwback uniform. But one season later, they stopped using the alternates and again reverted back to wearing gold pants with both their black and white jerseys. The team introduced a gold alternate jersey (worn with the black pants) during a December 15, 2002 game versus the Minnesota Vikings, a 3231 loss, but have never worn them since then. Because of the metallic gold’s bright color, the gold jerseys were considered the "light" jersey in the game, so the Vikings wore their purple home jerseys as the "dark" colored team. One team must wear "dark" and one team must wear "light", the only exception being if both teams are wearing throwback uniforms, such as Thanksgiving Classic games. Today only the New England Patriots have a "light" jersey (their alternate, a bright metallic silver) that isn’t white in which the other team would wear their colored, or "dark" jerseys against them since the third jersey rule was implemented in the NFL in 2002. The Saints also introduced a 1967-style throwback uniform in a 2320 win in week 13 (December 1) against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This also was never worn again but re-introduction of the jerseys in stores suggests they may make a comeback as the Saints’ alternate uniform. In 2006, to honor their return to Louisiana, the Saints wore a patch on their uniforms with an outline of the State of Louisiana with a fleur-de-lis superimposed, similar to the logo from the 1980s. The Saints originally planned to wear white jerseys at home for the 2006 season, but during the season, the players voted to wear the black jerseys at home after the second home game. Since the team had informed the NFL office that they planned to wear white jerseys at home, each of the Saints’ remaining home opponents would have to agree to New Orleans’ request. The Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Cincinnati Bengals did not agree to the switch, forcing the Saints to wear white jerseys for that game. Starting in week 13 of the 2006 season, the Saints wore white jerseys with black pants and in a Week 16 game in The Meadowlands against the New York Giants (a 307 Saints win), the Saints wore the black pants with their road white jerseys. The Saints later stuck with that combo in the NFC Championship in Chicago. The Saints wore white jerseys for their first four home games of 2008. Three of the four games the white jerseys with black pants combination were worn at home, while the white jerseys with gold pants combination were worn for the first of those four games. The Saints chose to wear the all-black combination for the October 26 game at Wembley Stadium in London vs. the San Diego Chargers, in which New Orleans was the designated home team. They also wore black jerseys with black pants for the rest of their home games at the Superdome following the game at London. The Saints wore their white jerseys at home for the first three home games of 2009. All with the white jerseys and gold pants combination. They have worn the all-black combo the last two home games. For its run through the 2009 playoffs, the team wore the gold pants. www.officialfootballseahawks.com/Authentic-12th-Fan-Jersey Articles by:http://www.articlesbase.com/ethics-articles/new-orleans-saints-3083722.html
New Orleans Saints
2013年8月6日The brainchild of local sports entrepreneur Dave Dixon, who also founded the Louisiana Superdome and the USFL, the Saints were actually secretly born in a backroom deal brought about by Congressman Hale Boggs, Senator Russell Long and NFL Commissioner Pete Rozelle. The NFL needed congressional approval of the proposed AFL-NFL merger. Dixon and a local civic group had been seeking a NFL franchise for over 5 years, and had hosted record crowds to NFL exhibition games. To seal the merger, Rozelle arrived in New Orleans within a week, and announced on November 1, 1966 that the NFL officially had awarded the city of New Orleans an NFL franchise. Named for the great jazz song most identified with New Orleans "When the Saints Go Marching In," the franchise was announced in a great coincidence on November 1st, which is the Catholic All Saints’ Day. Boggs’ Congressional committee in turn quickly approved the NFL merger. John W. Mecom, Jr., a young oilman from Houston, became the team’s first majority stockholder. The team’s colors, black and gold, symbolized both Mecom’s and New Orleans’ strong ties to the oil ("black gold") industry.[citation needed] Trumpeter Al Hirt was part owner of the team, and his rendition of "When the Saints Go Marching In" was made the official fight song. That first season started with a 94 yard opening kickoff return for a touchdown by John Gilliam, but the Saints lost that game 2713 to the Los Angeles Rams at Tulane Stadium. Their first season record was 311, which set an NFL record for most wins by an expansion team. However, they could not manage to finish as high as second in their division until 1979. That 1979 team and the 1983 team were the only ones to even finish at .500 until 1987. One of the franchise’s shining moments came on November 8, 1970, when Tom Dempsey kicked an NFL record-breaking 63-yard field goal to defeat the Detroit Lions by a score of 1917 in the final seconds of the game. This record, although equaled 29 years later by Jason Elam of the Denver Broncos, has yet to be broken. In 1980, the Saints lost their first 14 games, prompting local sportscaster Bernard "Buddy D" Diliberto to advise Saints supporters to wear paper bags over their heads at the team’s home games; many bags rendered the club’s name as the "’Aints" rather than the "Saints." The practice of wearing a bag over one’s head then spread rapidly, first to fans of other poorly performing teams within the NFL, and ultimately to those of other American team sports, and has become a firmly established custom throughout the United States. Mora era Current Saints owner Tom Benson acquired the franchise in 1985, and hired Jim Finks as general manager and Jim Mora as head coach. That combination provided the Saints with their first-ever winning record and playoff appearance, going 123 in 1987, which had one fewer game than normal due to a players’ strike. Another playoff berth would follow in 1990, and the club’s first division title came in 1991. During Mora’s tenure the Saints made the playoffs four times, with teams marked by strong defenses led by the "Dome Patrol" linebacking corps, but they were never able to win a playoff game. Mora coached the Saints until the middle of the 1996 season, when he stepped down halfway through a 313 season. Ditka era After the end of the 1996 season, ironically as Diliberto had suggested before Mora’s resignation, former Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka was hired to replace Mora. Although this initially generated a lot of excitement among Saints fans, Ditka’s tenure ended up being a failure. The Saints went 610 in their first two seasons under Ditka (1997 and 1998). During the 1999 NFL Draft, Ditka traded all of his picks for that season, as well as the first-round and third-round picks for the following season, to the Washington Redskins in order to draft University of Texas Heisman Trophy running back Ricky Williams in the first round. Ditka and Williams had a mock wedding picture taken to commemorate the occasion. However, Ditka, most of his coaching staff, and general manager Bill Kuharich were fired at the end of the 1999 season due to the club’s 313 record. Haslett era Jim Haslett held the post from 2000 to 2005. In his first year, he took the team to the playoffs but lost to the Minnesota Vikings a week after beating the St. Louis Rams for the team’s first ever playoff win. After winning the 2000 NFL Executive of the Year Award, General Manager Randy Mueller was fired between the 2001 and 2002 seasons without explanation by Benson. The Saints failed to make the playoffs in 2001 and 2002, although in the latter year they had the distinction of beating the eventual Super Bowl XXXVII champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers in both of their regular season meetings, only the second team to do so in NFL history. In 2003, the Saints again missed the playoffs after finishing 88. The 2004 season started poorly for the Saints, as they went 24 through their first six games and 48 through their first twelve games. At that point Haslett’s job appeared to be in jeopardy; however, he managed to win the three straight games leading up to the season finale, leaving the Saints in playoff contention in the final week of the season. In week 17, the Saints defeated division rivals Carolina; however, the Saints needed other results to break their way and when the St. Louis Rams beat the New York Jets the Saints were eliminated despite having beaten the Rams, who finished with the same record. The Rams, Saints, and Vikings all were 88, with the Rams having a 75 conference record, Saints 66, and the Vikings 57. The Rams received the #1 wild-card due to having the best conference record out of the 3, followed by the Vikings due to the 3316 loss handed to the Saints in Week 3. Haslett was fired after the 2005 season, in which the Saints finished 313 and did not play one regular season contest in New Orleans due to Hurricane Katrina. On January 17, 2006, the Saints hired Sean Payton as their new head coach. Effect of Hurricane Katrina Main article: Effect of Hurricane Katrina on the New Orleans Saints Due to the damage Hurricane Katrina caused to the Superdome and the New Orleans area, the Saints’ scheduled 2005 home opener against the New York Giants was moved to Giants Stadium. The remainder of their 2005 home games were split between the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, and LSU’s Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. On March 23, the Saints announced that the team’s two 2006 preseason games were to be played at Shreveport, Louisiana and Jackson, Mississippi. After a $185 million renovation of the historic stadium, on April 6 the Saints released their 2006 schedule, with all home games scheduled to be played at the Superdome. On September 19, Saints owner Tom Benson announced that the team had sold out the Louisiana Superdome for the entire season with season tickets alone (70,001 seats), a first in franchise history.[citation needed] The September 25, 2006 home opener, the first home game in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, was won by the Saints 233 against the Atlanta Falcons, who were undefeated in the 2006 season at that time. The attendance for the game was a sellout crowd of 70,003. Meanwhile, the broadcast of the game was ESPN’s highest-ever rated program to date, with an 11.8 rating, and viewership by 10,850,000 homes. It was the most-watched program for the night, broadcast or cable, and was the second-highest rated cable program of all time at the time. Green Day and U2 performed "Wake Me Up When September Ends" and "The Saints Are Coming" , respectively, before the game. The game received a 2007 ESPY award for "Best Moment in Sports." On December 17, 2006, the Saints clinched their third division title and their first NFC South title in franchise history. For the first time in Saints’ history, they clinched their NFC South title on their home field. Sean Payton became the second consecutive Saints coach to win a division title in his first season. After a loss by the Dallas Cowboys to the Philadelphia Eagles on Christmas Day 2006, the Saints clinched a first-round playoff bye for the first time in franchise history. After the first-round bye, the Saints beat the Philadelphia Eagles 2724 in the Superdome in the 2006 Divisional Playoffs. No team had ever had such a poor record in the prior year (313) and then gone on to a league or conference championship game since the 1999 St. Louis Rams who advanced to win their first Super Bowl after being 412 the season before. Since the Saints’ only previous playoff win was in the wild card round, this was the farthest the Saints had ever advanced at the time. The victory was only the second playoff win in team history. The season ended on January 21, 2007 when the Saints lost 3914 to the Chicago Bears in the NFC Championship game. 2007 Main article: 2007 New Orleans Saints season The Saints announced that for the second year in a row, the Louisiana Superdome had sold out every ticket for the season. Additionally, all luxury boxes had been sold out for the season.[citation needed] Both of these statistics are particularly surprising given that the city-proper has about 300,000 people or 150,000 fewer people than July 2005 population data (though the metro area still accounts for 1.2 million people).[citation needed]. The first game of the season was against the defending Super Bowl XLI champion Indianapolis Colts. The Saints lost this game, 4110, and lost their next three games. In one of these three games, against the Tennessee Titans, the Saints lost running back Deuce McAllister for the season with his second career (second time in three seasons) ACL tear. After winning their first game, against the Seattle Seahawks, two weeks later, the team went on a four-game winning streak to bring their record to an even 44. After reaching 77, the Saints lost their final two games to finish 79. 2009 Main article: 2009 New Orleans Saints season The 2009 season was the team’s most successful season, which culminated in the franchise’s first league championship win against the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV. After becoming 130 with their win over the Atlanta Falcons, it marked the Saints’ best start to a season in its franchise history. The result clinched an NFC playoff berth, a bye in the first round of the playoffs. By winning their first 13 games, the Saints also set the record for the longest undefeated season opening (130) by an NFC team since the AFLFL merger, eclipsing the previous record (120) held by the 1985 Chicago Bears. The team advanced to the 2009 NFC Championship game where they defeated the Minnesota Vikings 3128 in overtime to win their first Super Bowl appearance in franchise history. Television ratings for Super Bowl 44 were the highest for any TV program, sports or otherwise, in history. Since the win, two media writers have referred to the Saints as "America’s Team", as their successful bid to win the Super Bowl was seen by many to represent the city’s resurgence after the devastating Hurricane Katrina.
